Job Summary:
Welcome and help New Students within the School System.

Essential Functions:

  • Help plan and attend enrollment related events, new student orientation, or other application activities

Administrative Assistant - Title III HSI-STEM Grant

Job Summary:
Provides a wide variety of secretarial and administrative duties to support the Title III HSI-STEM Guided Pathways Enhancement grant project.

Essential Functions:

  • Records and maintains minutes and summaries for grant meetings
  • Create and maintain the grant master calendar including communication reminders to project stakeholders
  • Organize and maintain grant databases
  • Execute fiscal process for grant-related purchases
  • Support travel authorization and scheduling for grant-related travel
  • Schedule facilities for grant-related activities
  • Support the coordination of grant conferences
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma
  • Work requires limited skill or knowledge of policies, procedures, processes, software, tools and equipment under general supervision
  • Work may vary from specific instructions

Desired Qualifications:

  • Two or more years of experience maintaining financial entries, expenses and budgets in a system such as Financial Management System (FMS) or similar system
  • Two or more years of experience using Google tools, Microsoft Suite, and Canvas, as well as proficiency creating documents and spreadsheets

Job Summary:
These positions provide online and in-person computer usage support/technology tutoring for all MCC courses in the Learning Enhancement Center.

Essential Functions:

  • Provide one-on-one drop in tutoring support for CIS105/BPC110
  • Help students to download and use Microsoft Office applications
  • Help Support students with learning to use iPad device (iBelong)

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Successful completion (grade of “A”) in CIS 105 or BPC 110 or equivalent or CSC courses

Desired Qualifications:

  • EHigh level of knowledge and experience using Microsoft Office Suite programs

  • Experience using Canvas and Google Workspace

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to help students understand complex material

  • Patient and respectful of varying levels of student content knowledge

  • Willing to work 10-25 hours per week

Lead Learning Facilitator, Biology (Temp 2) Specially Funded - Learning Enhancement Center

Job Summary:
Provides tutoring support and outreach to Biology students as well as instructional and training support to Student Learning Facilitators in the biology sites of the Learning Enhancement in the biology sites of the Learning Enhancement Center.

Essential Functions:

  • 70% Provides tutoring support to a diverse student population, at varying levels of knowledge and abilities, in biology; assists in the training of tutors in the content area of biology; utilizes appropriate software and technology in order to execute tutoring responsibilities (MS office programs, Canvas, TracCloud, MOER, Maple, MatLab, and/or equivalent); plans and delivers workshops and other learning support activities
  • 15% Serves as a liaison between student learning facilitators and faculty regarding content support; mentors and coaches student learning facilitators on tutoring best practices; creates resource materials and instructional aids suitable for all levels of content area knowledge; represents the Learning Enhancement Center by conducting small and large group presentations about the Center services; collaborates with faculty to ensure adequate reinforcement of classroom instruction in the area of biology
  • 15% Performs outreach to biology students; Assists in the maintenance of department records, tracking platforms, resources, and schedules; supports department initiatives and programs related to biology tutoring; supports biology tutoring at Red Mountain campus; other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associate’s Degree or equivalent from a regionally accredited institution with successful completion (grade of “A”) of at least 16 credits in Biology and one year of program support in an educational setting.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Biology from a regionally accredited institution

  • Experience tutoring biology in an institution of higher education or experience teaching biology to a diverse learner population

  • Experience working in a comprehensive learning center in an institution of higher education or a similar setting

  • Experience designing workshops on academic topics or developing instructional materials

  • Experience with various educational software and technology programs (e.g., TracCloud, Student Information System, Learning Management system)

Special Working Conditions:

  • This position works in-person
  • Must be able to work during tutoring peak weeks of the semester and work at multiple sites between Red Mountain and Southern & Dobson campuses
  • May require some evening and/or weekend shifts
