StudentsStudents Informational Interviewing

An informal interview is a brief meeting with someone experienced in your field of interest that offers you an insider's perspective.  Conversations with advisors can take place over email, on the phone, or in-person.  The purpose of an informational interview is not to get a job.  It's to explore a particular career or educational path.

Before you initiate an information interview, we recommend that you visit the AZ Career Information System (AZCIS) if you're still exploring your option.  The AZCIS User's Guide will help you get started.

Once you've narrowed down the number of careers you're exploring, visit or call Career Services to access the Career Ready volunteer list.

Career Services will also provide tips for Informational Interviewing and other valuable Career Handouts.
