Important Information - FERPA Pin Required for Student Account Disclosure
FERPA is the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act and is a Federal law that protects the privacy of your education records. The FERPA PIN (Personal Identification Number) has been an option available to you as a student to use to verify your identity when calling in, chatting, texting, etc. Due to the Federal Trade Commission Safeguards Rule which is a part of the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act, we are instituting the use of a FERPA PIN as the main method of verifying your identity.
As part of the FERPA PIN, you can now authorize third-parties (such as parents, guardians, spouses, employers, or others) to have access to specific information on your student account by submitting and adding the 3rd party to your list of authorized persons and/or organizations. Staff are not able to assign/change your FERPA PIN. When in-person, you may be required to verify your identification with a photo ID.
Dual Enrollment Steps to Enroll
As a Dual Enrollment student, you will follow the steps below to complete your registration to Mesa Community College. During the process, you’ll set up a student account, apply for admission, and complete the enrollment steps in one seamless application.

- You will be required to submit ID Authentication as part of this process. ID Authentication must be on file before you can enroll.
- Upon completion of Step 1, you will have successfully applied for admissions, have an MCC ID number, an MEID, and password.
- *Returning Students will need their MEID/Password to begin the registration process and will not need to re-apply for admission.
- If you forgot your MEID/Password, please visit the Self Service Password Reset page. Once confirmed, proceed to Step 2.
Step 2 – View Available Classes; Determine Placement & Course Requirements
- Click on your high school and then select "see available classes."
- Identify the course in which you plan to enroll and ensure you meet the admissions requirements listed for the course. Take note of the following: MCCCD Course Number, MCCCD Course Title, Credits, and 5 digit class number, & Instructor Name. You will need this information to proceed with Step 3.
- If you do not meet the course prerequisite (admission requirements), you may need to complete an EdReady Placement Exam online.

This can be accomplished by self-reporting an unweighted, High School GPA of 2.0 or greater. Students unable to self-report a high school GPA of 2.0, will take the EdReady Reading assessment with a recommended score of 75 or higher. This policy will not impact placement requirements for individual course(s).
- If a placement test is required, test scores will be uploaded 24-48 hours after completion of your test.
