Alan BeveridgeFor Alan Beveridge, 46, of Chandler, juggling a job, a family and maintaining at 3.94 GPA while attending Mesa Community College was a challenge, but the task was made easier with the guidance of MCC instructors.

“It all comes down to the instructors,” Beveridge said. “MCC instructors Preston Cameron, Edd Welsh and Jack Mullins set excellent examples. We have an experience here at MCC that you just don’t get at a university.”

While at MCC, Beveridge kept busy with campus activities in addition to his coursework. He was the president of the Marketing Club, the advertising manager of the Mesa Legend, and a Phi Theta Kappa member. He assisted in organizing many campus events and promotions.

Beveridge will graduate from MCC with an AAS in Organizational Management, a certificate in Marketing and a certificate in Organizational Management. He plans to pursue a degree in Interdisciplinary Studies at Northern Arizona University through the Connect to NAU Program.

Beveridge has two sons, Nick and Dylan, who graduated from MCC and have gone on to complete higher degrees. He is proud to have completed his own degree.

“I made a commitment to my family to complete my degree in an efficient manner,” Beveridge said. “MCC was the most efficient way to get it done.”
