Theatre Students Accepted to Johnny Carson School

Woman studentJanae Dunn Woman studentMarissa Salazar MESA, Arizona –  Two Mesa Community College students have been accepted into the Professional Actor Training Program for the Johnny Carson School of Theatre & Film at the University of Nebraska/Lincoln. The students, Janae Dunn and Marissa Salazar, are in consideration for out-of-state tuition waivers and scholarships.

Dunn and Salazar, both of Tempe, were among seven MCC Theatre and Film Arts students who auditioned for the program’s director, Harris Smith, during a visit to MCC earlier this month. A third student has the possibility of acceptance as well.

Additionally, Laurel Shoemaker, UNL Assistant Professor of Theatre Design, will be at MCC later this year to interview and evaluate design portfolios for possible entrance to the Johnny Carson School of Theatre & Film’s design program.
