Of Mice and Men
About this event
Directed by James Rio, Of Mice and Men examines the strong bond of a pair of itinerant field workers during the Great Depression, who pursue the lofty and unattainable American Dream of settling down on their own ranch. The relationship between slight but smart George Milton and his giant but childlike companion Lennie Small, is tested to the breaking point when he develops an infatuation with the owner’s daughter-in-law, which ultimately leads to tragedy. This 1937 novella was adapted for both stage and screen by John Steinbeck, appearing on the American Library Association’s Most Challenged Books of the 21st Century, while most frequently included in curriculum and revered as an American classic. Contains Adult Language/Themes.
