"Transcriptions: A Celebration of Classical Music" is a sampler of music from the history of European classical music starting with the late Renaissance era into the Baroque with Dances from Terpsichore by Praetorius, a Telemann Concerto for Six Flutes, and the Brandenburg Concerto No. 2 by JS Bach. The concert moves forward with Mozart's Overture to 'The Abduction from the Seraglio’, Gustav Holst’s exquisitely beautiful "I’ll Love My Love” from his Second Suite, the exciting Capriccio Espagnol by Nikolay Rimsky-Korsakov, and more. The program is comprised of works composed for orchestra, concert band, or string ensemble and transcribed for flute choir with the exception of a piece recently written by Vincenzo Sorrentino for flutes, Sfavillante. Travel through time from the 17th through the 21st centuries with the flutists of Desert Echoes Flute Project.
