Bringing History Up To Speed: A Women's History Month Literary Event featuring Susan Briante and Nishta J. Mehra.
Susan Briante is the author of three books of poetry, "Pioneers in the Study of Motion," "Utopia Minus" and, most recently, "The Market Wonders" (Ahsahta Press, 206), which was a finalist for the national poetry series. Also a translator, her translations have appeared widely in journals and anthologies. Briante teaches in the Mater in Fine Arts program at the University of Arizona.
Nishta J. Mehra is the proud first-generation daughter of Indian immigrants and the author of two essay collections: "The Pomegranate King," self-published in 2013, and "Brown White Black" published by Picador in February 2019. A native of Memphis, Tennessee, Mehra now lives with her wife, Jill, and their six-year-old, Shiv, in Phoenix.
This event is free, and seating is provided on a first come, first serve basis.
