From teaching ESL in Japan to commercial fishing in Alaska, Jeremy searched for a place to be human and express himself. Finally, he put two and two together as he was on his way to Taiwan to teach English again, deciding to go to graduate school. In school, he focused on finding himself, and by doing so, hopefully understanding a little more about the world in which we live. Jeremy has been teaching at MCC since Spring 2006.

"I have always enjoyed the funk artists' acceptance of laughter in clay. These heads were a starting project for beginning students in clay, where we accepted the idea of laughing at our workâsometimes calling self-portraits, self-distorted. These heads comment on our social interaction today, changing from concerts, and house parties, to Walmart and Circle K."
