Band and Orchestra Concert: Journey to the New World

Mesa Community College presents Band, Community & Orchestra Concert:
Oct 1, 2024 at 7 pm at MCC Performing Arts Center
The MCC Bands & Orchestra will be kicking off their 2024-25 season on Tuesday, October 1st at 7:00pm with a “Journey to the New World”. The Community Band will begin the journey in the fictional Middle-Earth world of Mordor with Movement 1, “Gandalf” from Johan de Meij’ classic interpretive suite, “The Lord of the Rings”, and the Community Orchestra will conclude the journey with the Finale from Antonín Dvořák’s “New World Symphony”. Along the journey, you will hear fantastic works by Holsinger, Hindemith, Stamp, Camphouse, Balmages and Saint-Saëns. This will be an amazing journey and we hope that you can join us!
