About this event

Mesa Community College Music Department  Desert Echoes Flute Project Concert Presents: Enchanted Forest

Oct 11 at 7:30 pm – MCC Performing Arts Center

Join the DEF Project flutists for the 'Enchanted Forest' concert where you'll "meet" pandas, cats, a turtle, a rabbit, and more. Flute soloist Alicia Wardell is featured on the fabulous and challenging 'Golden Sunset' by David Heath. A delightful perspective on the famous story of the turtle and the rabbit is presented musically with narrator Jeff McKeehan - how did the turtle beat that rabbit?! Other selections include the China inspired 'Pandas in the Bamboo Forest' by Phyllis Louke and the low flute choir takes it down low on Jonathan Cohen's 'Forbidden Forest' with 12 alto flutes, nine bass flutes, and four (yes, 4!) contrabass flutes!
