Desert Echoes Flute Project and the Community Flute Choir present a summer concert of music featuring flutes of all sizes including the rare Eb soprano flute and the 9ft long contrabass flute. The flute choir adventure includes the meter-changing "Summertime Romp" by Gay Kahkonen, Daniel Kessner's sophisticated and challenging Symphony in Silver, Alexandra Molnar-Suhajda's musical stories of mythology Greek Tableaux, the entertaining "Calliope Capers" by Ladd McIntosh, Rimsky-Korsakov's "Dance of the Tumblers", Nora Kile's arrangement of Vivaldi's "Gloria in Exccelsis Deo" and "Cum Sancto Spiritu", Ron Korb's beautiful "Beckett's Whisper", and Ricky Lombardo's out-of-this-world Adventures in Space! The combined flute choirs will perform the exciting Saint-Saens "Bacchanale" from Samson and Delilah arr. by Shaul Ben-Meir to conclude the program.
