Come join the American Indian Institute for the Spring Indigenous Wellness Series!
This will be a 3 day event that will inspire, motivate and energize you for the remainder of the semester using Indigenous knowledge and wisdom!
Day 1- April 22, 2024 I 12pm-2pm I MU-Patio
- Celebrate Earth Day in a unique and Indigenous way! Join us for this interactive and enlightening session that will leave you feeling grounded, inspired, and connected to the sacred wisdom of Indigenous traditions. This workshop will be a combination of smudging, storytelling and yoga, connecting you with the earth by harnessing good energy for overall well-being
Day 2: April 23, 2024 I 12pm-2pm I MU-Patio
- Participate in a dynamic Medicine Wheel Workshop that encompasses the four essential aspects of well-being---Physical, Mental, Spiritual & Emotional. You will be engaged in 20 mins of physical activity, including Indigenous dance, footwork and yoga to awaken your mind, body & spirit. All Skill Levels Welcome.
Day 3: April 24, 2024 I 12pm-2pm I MU-Patio
- Ignite your curiosity and dive deep into Self- Discovery. Participants will investigate journaling to uncover key aspect to personal growth. You will also engage in icebreaker games and movements that will foster connection and a place of community, leaving you empowered and equipped with powerful tools for success.
Facilitator Bio: Cas Stouder (Seminole & Navajo)
Cas draws inspiration from her ancestors and late sister to live life in a positive and impactful way. The drive for continuous personal growth is propelled by the resilience of her sister with cerebral palsy and the strength of her ancestors who survived trauma and loss. With 21 years of experience, Cas uses her personal and professional knowledge and skills to advocate and actively participate in BIPOC recovery spaces and contributes to the sobriety movement. She has served Indigenous communities in the roles of Indian Child Welfare Act (ICWA) Case Manager, Native American Fitness Council Master Trainer and Native American Youth Wilderness Program Manager. Her outstanding commitment to wellness makes her a valuable asset to any team. She is eager to make a positive impact through her work by empowering others to achieve and be successful in their personal and professional lives.
