7th Annual Festival of the Arts

MESA, Arizona – March 20, 2018 – Mesa Community College invites the community to attend the 7th Annual Festival of the Arts in a celebration of student artists, musicians, poets, storytellers, dancers, and theatre performers on Thursday, March 22 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Southern and Dobson Campus.

The festival brings numerous MCC departments together, including Art, Music, Dance, Theatre, English, Fashion Merchandising, and Interior Design. The music and audio for the live performances will be run by MCC’s Sound Engineering class.

“We encourage community members to spend their lunch hour interacting with student artists. They’ll have the opportunity to take home artwork or see a performance by some very talented local artists,” said organizer and MCC art faculty member Gingher Leyendecker. “We are very excited to present what MCC students are learning to our community.”

Tents will be set up in the Theatre and Art building courtyard for artists to sell and display their work. There will be visual demonstrations in painting, drawing, and ceramics happening throughout the day and food will be sold during the festival by Indian Student Organization (ISO) Student Club as well.
