MCC offers K-12 Summer Camps

Note: April 10, 2019 -- The hours for the basketball camp were extended from 9-11 a.m. to 8 a.m. to noon, the cost remains the same.

MESA, Arizona -- Feb. 22, 2019 -- Mesa Community College again offers its popular summer camps for students entering K–12. These affordable and sometimes free camps provide opportunities to have fun while learning about music, theatre, multimedia technologies and basketball. All camps are held on MCC’s Southern and Dobson Campus, 1833 W. Southern Ave., Mesa.

MCC Free Summer Music Camp: Band, Jazz. Orchestra and Choir
9th– 12th grade vocalists or instrumentalists *see below
May 27 - June 6, 2019 Tuition: FREE

This extremely popular music camp features educators and professional musicians to nurture young talent in Mesa Community College’s impressive Performing Arts Center. Required concerts the evenings of June 8 and June 9. The MCC Summer Music Camp is tuition FREE through the donations of MCC Performing Arts Center supporters, the college, faculty and staff.
* Open only to incoming 9th grade through high school senior students who are band, jazz, orchestral musicians or vocalists. Camp placement is limited based on instrumentation and enrollment. Students 9th grade and older will be held a spot with a successful audition and completed application packet.

Learning to make apps is fun, exciting and lucrative! At App Camp, students create a basic app, learn how to program a robot using Swift code and find out what it takes to submit an app to the iTunes App Store.

Learn to be a wiz with photo editing and graphics creation for your best-ever Instagram memes. Plus, up your video, audio and animation skills. MMM Camp delivers fun, interactive instruction about computer graphics, photo editing, 3D modeling as well as basic video/audio editing and animation. Use popular, free, open-source software including Inkscape, Blender 3D, Gnu Image Manipulation Program, Krita, Audacity and LMMS.
