MESA, Arizona – May 5, 2017 – On May 12, Mesa Community College (MCC) will recognize the accomplishments of 2,348 graduates by issuing 4,553 degrees and certificates for the 2016-17 academic year at a commencement ceremony in the courtyard of MCC’s Southern and Dobson campus.
Donning blue caps and gowns, 592 graduates will participate in the ceremony, beginning with the processional at 7:15 p.m., followed by the program at 7:30 p.m. The general public is invited to the ceremony.
MCC issues Associate’s Degrees as well as Certificates of Completion. Programs issuing the largest number of Associate’s Degrees this year are the Nursing, Elementary Education, Network System Administration and Emergency Response and Operation.
During 2016-17, female graduates outnumbered male graduates, 1,247 and 1,076 respectively, with 10 transgender students and 17 unspecified.
