MCC Teams Win at Avnet Tech Games

Mesa Community College walked away with two team championships at the Avnet Tech Games Competition recently. Bruce Carlton, MCC computer science faculty, sponsored the teams, which included:

Team of studentsMCC Robot Team at Avnet Tech Games Robot Race Obstacle Course Team: Spencer Hall, Federico Ortega, Richard Dale. Each student won a $1,000 scholarship.

Team of studentsMCC Solar Team Solar Scrimmage Team: Justin Arispe, Jennifer Hooker, Drew Carlson. Each student won a $1,000 scholarship.

The Avnet Tech Games is an annual college technology competition that provides students with an opportunity to apply what they learn in school to real-world scenarios. Students compete in teams and each winning team member is eligible to receive a scholarship. Nearly 200 students on 76 teams from Arizona community colleges and universities competed for scholarships in the ninth annual Avnet Tech Games.
