MESA, Arizona – January 17, 2018 – Mesa Community College hosts an open house from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Feb. 2 in celebration of national Career and Technical Education (CTE) Month. The event takes place at MCC’s Southern and Dobson campus, 1833 W. Southern Ave., Mesa.
By providing attendees opportunities to learn first-hand how current aspirations and experiences may pave the way to future careers, MCC’s CTE Strong supports the national theme, Celebrate Today, Own Tomorrow. There are opportunities to explore career building programs, experience hands-on labs, engage with faculty to learn more about the career and technical education offered at MCC and apply for scholarships.
MCC offers over 150 Associate of Applied Science degrees and Certificates of Completion in 32 career fields ranging from Administration of Justice to Veterinary Technology and Welding. These programs are designed to help students enhance their career options, many in high-demand, higher-wage fields.
“MCC Career and Technical Education courses continually evolve with leading-edge practices and knowledge provided by advisory boards of local industry leaders,” said Michael Voss, MCC Dean of Instruction, Career and Technical Programs. “The board members stress the need for their future employees to have the skills and abilities to do a job in addition to basic, good employee skills. Our instructors embed the development of ethics, interpersonal skills, critical thinking, organization, teamwork, technological literacy and personal and professional responsibilities in the curriculum.”
In addition to instruction and labs, many MCC CTE programs include internships and other opportunities for students to network within local industries.
Please RSVP for this no-cost event atXXXXXXX. To bring groups to the open house, please call 480-461-6392 or email recruiter@mesacc.edu for details.
