MESA, Arizona – Mesa Community College’s Theatre & Film Arts Department presents Tennessee Williams' Pulitzer Prize-winning play, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, May 1, 2, 7 and 8 at 7:30 p.m. and May 2 and 9 at 2 p.m. in the MCC Theatre located on the south side of the college’s Southern and Dobson Campus in Mesa. Tickets are available by calling the Box Office at 480-461-7172 or online or at the door.
Williams’ classic play is a moving portrait of lies and deceit that fester below the surface of what appears to be normal family life, in this case, the Pollitt family. Maggie, referred to as “The Cat,” must willfully motivate her alcoholic husband, Brick, to get the pieces of his ruined life together before Big Daddy’s estate is bequeathed to Brick’s despicable brother, Gooper, and sister-in-law, Mae. James Rio is the director of this powerful play.
