The Life Science department is hosting a showing of the movie Organic Rising, a film by Anthony Suau (Pulitzer prize winning photojournalist) on Feb., Wed., 26th 2-4:30PM in M200 at the Red Mountain Campus. This is an honors co-curricular and open to all students and community members. The showing is made possible by a generous donation from a local community member. There will be a discussion panel to talk about what organic food is all about:

  • Is organic food just hype to charge higher prices or is it really a much healthier food option? We'll discuss what science tells us about organic food.
  • 90% of YOU have organophosphates (class of insecticides) and 50% of YOU have glyphosate (herbicide) in your urine and blood, both of which are associated with higher cancer risks. Where do they come from and how did they get in your bodies? BTW - novichok is an organophosphate. It is a lethal nerve agent developed by Russia and has been used in several assassinations.
  • Is organic food more nutritious?
  • You've all seen organic food in the grocery store - now learn what it's all about so you can make informed choices about what you eat.

You can watch the movie trailer here.

Organic popcorn will be served and seating is limited.
