Graduating from MCC’s nursing program in 1979, Donna is a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner. She has devoted her professional life to improving the care of children with neurological disease, and her personal mission to care for the underserved, the poor, and those with special needs.

Donna is director-at-large for the American Association of Neuroscience Nurses and received the association’s Mary Decker Mentorship Award and Excellence in Advanced Practice Award, honoring her gift of sharing her knowledge with others to advance the profession and improve patient care.

Donna is co­editor of Nursing Care of the Pediatric Neurosurgery Patient, 3rd edition, which was chosen as one of the American Journal of Nursing’s 2017 Books of the Year. Additionally, she is the author of numerous other publications as well as the hydrocephalus chapter for the Handbook of Neuroscience Nursing, and the hydrocephalus and pediatric developmental anomalies chapters in the American Association of Neuroscience Nurses Core Curriculum.

As a leader in the field of neuroscience nursing, Donna has presented at more than 40 conference and lectures. Her work extends beyond the hospital to include volunteer work locally as well as globally on medical and surgical missions to South America and Mexico.
