CIS Multi-Use Computer Lab

The Multi-Use Computer Lab (MUL) is accessible to all students enrolled at MCCCD colleges. Appointments are not necessary; students may visit at any time during hours of operation to utilize a computer, seek assistance from a lab assistant, or receive complimentary tutoring for Computer Information Systems (CIS) courses. Upon entering BA40, please present your student ID to gain access to the lab.

Why should you come to our MUL Lab?

Lab Assistants:

Our lab assistants will check you into the lab and will be available to help you navigate Canvas, start your assignments, connect with tutoring and/or your instructor, answer general questions, and provide basic support with Microsoft products.

CIS Tutoring Services:

We are pleased to announce the introduction of complimentary, dedicated, in-person tutoring services in our Multi-Use Lab (MUL) during lab hours. In the forthcoming phase, we will be implementing virtual/remote tutoring hours.

Our tutors have been meticulously selected based on their extensive experience, and many of them are currently pursuing degrees in their respective fields. It is important to note that not all tutors possess expertise in every subject area. We kindly ask for your patience as we introduce our tutors and outline their specific areas of proficiency.

Areas of Expertise:

  • Programming Languages: Java, Python, Swift, C#, and others
  • Cisco Certifications: CCNA, CCNP, and Cybersecurity
  • Web Design
  • Digital Media
  • Microsoft Office Applications: Excel, Access, and Management of Information Systems

We will soon provide a comprehensive schedule for the CIS tutors, enabling you to identify the optimal times for obtaining assistance. Please stay tuned for further updates!

Instructor Lab Hours:

Many of our instructors schedule their lab hours in the Multi-Use Computer Lab (MUL) to provide support for the courses they teach.

  • Among other faculty members, CIS105 instructors are required to complete their lab hours within our Multi-Use Computer Lab (MUL) to support our students.
  • Other faculty members schedule time in the lab to support CIS students, depending on their areas of expertise.

An interactive calendar displaying instructor lab hours is currently in development. Please stay tuned for further updates!
