Crime scene investigation. It's all over the TV. Some technician is dusting for fingerprints. Another is photographing a room where something bad went down. Still another is carefully bagging and labeling evidence. But did you know technicians actually do these things in real life? It's forensics, the recognition, collection, identification, and interpretation of physical evidence for criminal law purposes.
