Picture yourself breaking a story about a corrupt public official to a national TV audience. Or filing your weekly report from spring training. Imagine choosing which photo to run with tomorrow’s top story.
Experience hands-on learning in classroom computer labs and as a working staff member for the Mesa Legend, MCC’s campus newspaper.
Journalism is the timely reporting of news and events at the local, national, and international levels. Journalists gather information through interviews and research and craft fair and balanced stories for publication, broadcast, or online. They perform a vital function in free societies; the journalist’s first obligation is to the truth, their first loyalty is to the citizens.
The Journalism program at MCC offers classes that will start you on the path to a career as a journalist and give you what you need to transfer to a four-year university.
