Thor the Thunderbird CartoonThe Mesa Community College mascot, Thor the Thunderbird, represents soaring power, strength and fun. Thor’s role is to exemplify Thunderbird spirit by encouraging enthusiasm, athletic excitement and MCC pride, while representing the college at sporting, community and college activities. Thor energizes events by interacting with fans and participants. As Thor, you receive $50 per appearance and demonstrate your abilities to entertain, interact with individuals and crowds, while exhibiting professionalism, following instructions, showing initiative and participating with reliability in scheduled events. Tryouts for Thor for the 2024 school year will be held by appointment, times and location to be determined. If you have questions or would like to try out, email Lora Lassitter.

Qualifications

  • Current MCC student or registered for Fall 2024 taking a minimum of 6 credits
  • In good physical condition
  • Animated, enthusiastic and spirited
  • Responsible
  • Able to work in the confined head gear and clothing of the mascot outfit
  • A height of 5’7” to 6’3” (to see out of costume)
  • Sign the Thor Pledge and adhere to all requirements set forth in it
