Pay Rate: $14.70 an hour
Hours Per Week: 19.5 hours per week
Work Schedule: Monday through Thursday 9:00 am to 1:00 pm
Not Eligible for Benefits: This is a part-time temporary position, not eligible for benefits
Job Summary:
Coffee shop Barista delivering exceptional customer service to students, faculty, and staff. This position involves preparing a variety of beverages, maintaining inventory, stocking shelves, and ensuring a welcoming atmosphere within the coffee shop.

- Customer Service
Special Working Conditions:
- Some Heavy Lifting no more than 20lbs.

Pay Rate: $16.00 an hour
Hours Per Week: Varies on department and student availability

Job Summary:
Mesa Community College is hiring several Mathematics, Biology and Chemistry Student Learning Facilitators to work as embedded tutors during the upcoming Spring semester. These positions provide in-person and online tutoring for Mathematics, Biology and Chemistry courses in the Learning Enhancement Center and support students in the classroom as assigned.
Essential Functions:
- 85% Provides tailored tutoring support to students in an assigned course section; Attends class meetings as assigned and based on modality; Provides in-person and/or online tutoring to students in the Learning Enhancement Center while implementing effective study strategies; Utilizes effective communication skills to help students understand complex material; Works with a diverse population of students, faculty and staff.
- 15% Delivers review sessions/workshops, provides asynchronous support, and creates resources for assigned course section as requested; Maintains student attendance for review sessions/workshops and tutoring records; Engages students in instructional activities using educational technology hardware and software programs such as video conferencing tools, ConexED, Google Workspace, Canvas, TracCloud, etc; Provides student status and recommendations to program leads and collaborates with instructors.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 1)Successful completion (grade of "A") in a course where an embedded tutor will be assigned. Spring 2025 openings are for the following courses: BIO181, BIO201, BIO205 MAT15x, MAT213, MAT187, MAT220 CHM130, CHM151, CHM152, CHM230, CHM235
- 2) Knowledge of course content and materials in the subject area of biology, chemistry, mathematics, physics
- 3) Good communication skills and the ability to help students understand complex material.
- 4) Patient and respectful of varying levels of student content knowledge
- 5) Current student at Mesa Community College.
Desired Qualifications:
- 1) Successful completion with a grade of A in prerequisite courses for the embedded assignment course, such as the courses below: BIO181, BIO201, BIO205 MAT15x, MAT213, MAT187, MAT220 CHM130, CHM151, CHM152, CHM230, CHM235, CHM236
- 2) Knowledge of instructional methods used in the classroom at MCC
- 3) Faculty recommendation
- 4) Knowledge of effective study strategies
- 5) Experience providing quality service in a fast-paced environment.
Special Working Conditions:
- Embedded tutors may work in one of the LEC locations on the Southern and Dobson or Red Mountain campus and support students in the classroom as assigned. Tutors will work in-person and provide virtual tutoring from campus.
