Federal Work-Study (FWS) serves as a federal financial aid program, providing students with part-time employment to help cover educational expenses.

How to qualify for Federal Work-Study?
To be eligible for Federal Work-Study (FWS), you must:
- Have a completed Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) on file with our college.
- Demonstrate unmet financial need based on your FAFSA results.
- Be enrolled in at least six credit hours, maintaining satisfactory academic progress.
- Be proactive in exploring FWS positions and completing required application materials.
If you are interested in an FWS position at MCC, your first step is to complete the FWS Student Interest Form. Most FWS positions require a resume and sometimes a cover letter. For guidance on crafting an effective resume and cover letter, visit the Professional Development and Job Readines site.

Status: Federal Work-Study Position
Location: Mesa Community College - Southern and Dobson Campus
Department: Athletics Department
Pay Rate: $14.35 an hour
Hours Per Week: 19.5 hours per week
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
Not Eligible for Benefits: This is a part-time temporary position, not eligible for benefits
Job Summary:
The purpose of this position in Mesa athletics compliance services at Mesa Community College is to provide comprehensive front and back office services ranging from processing of incoming and outgoing phone calls, texts and emails. processing support reviewing documents submitted for Mesa and NJCAA athletic eligibility participation.
Essential Functions:
- Front counter duties involve incoming and outgoing communications.
- Organizing and filing of eligibility documents.
- Imputing of data into the master database system.
- Responsible for day-to-day intake, tracking, and recording of incoming high school and college transcripts.
- Assist in creating Excel spreadsheet to track general record retention, persistence, academic and athletic award, transfer, and graduation statistics, and other continuing education/athletic-related services with a high level of accuracy within an athletic compliance services environment.
- Provides basic athletic program information to faculty and staff.
- Conducts data entry of program-related activities, applicant processing, and other programs. related information.
- Assist in submitting documents submitted via Dynamic Forms.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

- Flexible in a fast paced environment
Desired Qualifications:
- Professional demeanor -Good communication skills (written & verbal) Office skills (e.g. office phone, Microsoft office suite such as excel, word, powerpoint; Google for email and calendar.)

- The ability to self-monitor and work autonomously with follow-through on assignments with high standards of performance
- Project and event logistics, paperwork, set-up & clean up
- General office tasks, filing, organizing, answering calls, note taking, responding to inquiries
Special Working Conditions:
- Being able to lift at least 25lbs
