Fitness and Conditioning for Firefighters: MCC's CPAT Course
There is an opportunity for students to take the International Association of Fire Fighters (IAFF) Candidate Physical Ability Test (CPAT) at the end of the course for certification. This course focuses on the skills and abilities required for an entry-level position in the fire service; highlighting physical ability, and stamina. Students will be able to identify the five components of Firefighter physical fitness, describe the basics of strength training, and recognize the importance of the mental aspects of Firefighter performance. Our instructors ensure that all students are prepped, confident, and equipped to successfully complete the CPAT test.

Course Note: Offered as a credit (P) or no credit (Z) basis. Standard grading available according to procedures outlined in the catalog.
