Join a Club (see list of clubs here)
There are many reasons why one should join a student organization. Some can help you with a career, some can help you with social skills and some can help you with personal development.
Start A Club
Can't find the right club for you? Start your own! A club gives you the opportunity to participate in the activities outside of the classroom that make you who you are, and help make your MCC experience that much more unique and worthwhile!
Club Tips
Create a Sense of Belonging - As with any group or team, each and every person needs to feel wanted. If a new member arrives at a meeting and does not feel welcome, he or she may not return. Be sure to contact all members regularly, and most of all, be a friend to them.
Mesa Community College’s student-led clubs are a true strength of our campus community. They span the spectrum from the professional to the social, hosting events of all kinds both on and off campus. Our students will tell you that these organizations greatly enrich their time at MCC.

Why Join a Club?
There are many reasons why one should join a student organization. Some can help you with a career, some can help you with social skills and some can help you with personal development.
Networking: The easiest and best way to network with students who have similar interests is joining a student club. The people you meet can help you in your career, hobby or anything that you are passionate about.
Social Skills: It’s a global economy and learning how to interact with other people from different cultures and countries can be a huge benefit as you move into the working world. This is also an opportunity to polish your social skills.
Professional experience: If you join a student club focused on professional development, you will increase your exposure to others in your field of study which can give you an advantage when it’s time for an internship or job.
Leadership Skills: If you become part of a club’s leadership, you take up the challenge to be a role model and learn what it takes to be a good leader. This is invaluable experience that sets you apart from the competition.
Alumni Networking: Student clubs usually connect with alumni and ask them to share their experiences. It is a wonderful opportunity for you to learn from those who have graduated and make connections that can help you with job searches and provide mentoring opportunities.
Organization and Management Skills: Student clubs give you an unique opportunity to learn first-hand about fundraising, club finances, event marketing, team work and more.
Friendships and Fun: Life is not just about career and making money. It is about building friendships and having fun. You get a chance to meet people and build good friendships. You will be part of the social activities and feel more connected with your school.
