The Certificate of Completion (CCL) in Kubernetes Security provides students the knowledge and skills to perform a broad range of best practices for securing container-based applications and Kubernetes platforms during build, deployment and runtime. This program helps prepare students for the Kubernetes Security Specialist (CKS) certification exam. Industry professionals in the field of information technology security will benefit from adding a specialization in Kubernetes security to their skill sets.

  2. Restrict access to Kubernetes API through Cluster Hardening.
  3. Perform overall system hardening using appropriate tools.
  4. Manage microservice vulnerabilities using OS level security best practices.
  5. Use analysis to scan for known vulnerabilities and secure the supply chain.
  6. Perform analysis to detect and mitigate known and unknown threats.

Course Sequence by Term

The following is the suggested course sequence by term. Please keep in mind:

  • The course sequence is laid out by suggested term and may be affected when students enter the program at different times of the year.
  • Initial course placement is determined by current district placement measures and/or completion of 100-200 level course and/or program requirements.
  • Degree and transfer seeking students may be required to successfully complete a MCCCD First Year Experience Course (FYE) within the first two semesters at a MCCCD College. Courses include AAA/CPD150, AAA/CPD150AC, CPD104, and AAA115/CPD115. Course offerings will vary by college. See an academic, program, or faculty advisor for details.
