Carol Achs, Dean of Instruction, Marcus Chinn, Title III Project Director, Melissa Carpenter, Learning Enhancement Center Director, and Karla Gonzalez, Financial Aid Manager presented on Day Two of the 2015 Foundations for Student Success English Summer Institute.

Carol Achs welcomed the English faculty to the Summer Institute and talked about challenges and opportunities facing faculty and students.

Melissa Carpenter, previous Title III Project Director, gave a status update on the state of the Title III grant, what has been accomplished in the first three years and what still remains to be done in the final year.

Marcus Chinn presented a workshop on “Campus Engagement: Helping students get connected with communities on campus.” This segment focused on opportunities for faculty to use the campus as a whole to promote student success.

Karla Gonzalez discussed financial aid literacy and especially Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP).
