Amelia Rodriguez, Ashley Stich, and Anna McWhirter, all Reading faculty at MCC, presented at this year’s Reading Summer Institute.

How to align assignments, activities and assessments to new course objectives was the focus of this workshop.

This session was a culminating activity that allowed faculty to synthesize what they had learned at last year and this year’s two FSS Reading Summer Institutes and the year-long Professional Learning Communities that 100 percent of Reading faculty participated in.

Faculty worked in course groups with their own materials and used the time on the last day of the Institute to share best ideas with other groups, creating a true collaboration that will strengthen all reading courses and benefit all students who take reading classes.
